Hey guys!
Back within three days; it's a halloween miracle! (It's a bit too early for a Christmas miracle and according to Tumblr halloween started on October 1st, so that's why). But either way, I just wanted to share some things with you guys.
I saw the Walking Dead premiere two days ago, and I have to admit that I didn't really like it. It failed to capture my precious attention. I mean, sure, at first I was interested, what with the flasbacks in black and white and sooo many Walkers, but then once I realized what they were doing it was a bit boring. I mean, you could pretty much predict that things were going to go wrong because they always do and overall, it was meh. I've seen reviews that agree with me but also several that state that it was an amzing episode; everyone's entitled to their own opinions. I'll still follow the show, but right now, I'm more excited for new episodes of the Librarians, starting on november first.
Also, as I was awake at night for the trillionth time this week, I actually had an idea for a new story! It's going to be in the genre of YA dystopian stuff, which is tricky because it has a bad reputation among literary critics, but then again, fantasy does have that too... I was planning on writing high fantasy only, but this was just too perfect an idea. I'm not spoiling anything yet; I'll start working on it today, and I think I'm going to post the entire thing online. So you'll just have to be patient and I'll be sure to let you know more once I posted it. But I'm going to do an outline first so you may have to wait for a few more weeks before it's actually going online. I just hope that you like it:)
Oh, and I need your opinion; this site is getting pretty steady pageviews right now. About ten unique visitors a day, and I've had some bursts going up to 214 visitors when I wrote about Elfia, and another 93 last week. I think this is a good time to start working on making this proffesional, and that means that I'll have to pay for having my own site name and such. I'm willing to do that, but I'm not sure whether I should do it on Weebly. I mean, I've had plenty of problems with Weebly not posting my stuff, and it's not very recommended either, now that I have actually looked into these things. So I'm thinking of moving my site to something like Wordpress, but I want your opinion. Is it a smart thing to do? I might lose visitors, but then again, there aren't really that many, and if I am really clear about it.. Either way, I want your opinion on this. What should I do?
Now, I've kept the best news for the last part...
I FINISHED SANDERSONS NEW BOOK SHADOWS OF SELF LAST NIGHT AND O MY GOD IT WAS FREAKING AMAZING.
No, no spoilers ahead. I'll keep myself restrained (somewhat). But really, it's a great book. Better than Alloy of Law, definitely. And there's some huge Mistborn and Cosmere bombs being dropped like it's nothing at all. Like I don't have feelings for characters from previous books and like I actually don't have feelings at all.
So the first Mistborn Trilogy is the one that introduces the Allomantic world through Vin, Kelsier and all the other badass characters. And then, the books end. Ouch.
Luckily, Sanderson's writing more book in this world but they are all set a few centuries after the previous series.
So in the world of Shadows of Self, the characters from the first trilogy are long dead and have become myths. And no, myth hasn't been forgotten before the next Age comes along.
So there are some references in Alloy to the myths of the first trilogy, the characters that first stole my heart and turned it sanderson (that's a thing right now). But then Shadows of Self comes along, doing that too, until almost halfway the book where Sanderson just drops huge bombs with so many feels and it hurts and it's amazing and I want to read all the books again. I'm still a bit dumbfounded.
AND O MY GOD THAT ENDING DUDE YOU REALLY OUTDID YOURSELF.
Needless to say, I loved it. You should read it. All of you. That's a must
